Today I want to return to my own, and maybe someone else, childhood and tell about MorrOWind with the emotions that I experienced while an eight-year-old boy.

I am as many as eight years old and I have been studying in the second grade, in the morning to school, and after the day after the house, the hour of playing the computer. It was an ordinary day, my mother returned from work and called to her. Approaching, with the words “here, an uncle at work gave you to play”, handed me a disk with some kind of game. On the cover there was a dark elf and the inscription “The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind”

Then I did not even know how cool this game would turn my world over. It is worth mentioning that I played with my cousin on the computer. And when we launched this game the next morning, the roof tore off us. If before that we played Madagascar and the corridor Half-Life, then the Morrown game world was akin to the endless expanses. So, with the rumbling of Sil-Studer, the main journey of my childhood began.

We even had our own bestiary: my brother wrote the name of the creature on the notebook page, and after the game I painted it. Each violin or mud in us aroused genuine interest in us, and when we met Guar on the way from Seyd to Balmore, I was ready to fly up with happiness.

Game landscapes amazed my imagination, I still consider Morovind to be one of the most beautiful games. Gray-green shores and red wastelands firmly ate to me in memory.

The clock flowed to the days, and days in weeks, we were completely absorbed in the game, nothing foreshadowed trouble, but then it happened terrible: my mother said that the disk should be returned. My heart was broken, because every day, including the computer, I saw that very icon, but when clicking on it, instead of the usual menu, I saw a request to insert a disk. It was decided to start drinking. Then in the stores of my city discs cost 200 rubles. A month later, the amount was on hand, I had to sacrifice crackers and other yummy. Having arrived at the store and calling the seller the game that interests me, my hopes crashed on the floor. 200 rubles then cost pirate discs made on the knee, and Morrowind was a licensed game, which was published 1C, and its discs cost 350. I had to endure another month.

With the release of Saltsheim for Skyrim, my nostalgia hit me with renewed vigor. Since that time, Morrowind was permanently hung on my computer, and I played from time to time. However, the funny thing is that I passed it only 10 years after the first acquaintance. And I did it on the phone using Openmw. Then the game began to play for me with all its colors, and children’s memories were fresh like ever. Only 10 years later, I was fully plunged into history, about the sixth house and Nervarin. The whole decade lasted my journey to the liberation of Vanderfell.

This is my little story about my favorite game. I still from time to time go into this masterpiece to run along familiar and native paths, tap on the head of a couple of riders and see the guares again. Most likely, Morrowind for me is a duckling syndrome, the first role -playing game that has become my beloved for me. Only the Witcher 3 was able to compete with her for the title of pet. But I generally missed this place, went deep into the ruins, investigated everything there, decided that he had come somewhere in the wrong place, teleported with the help of a scroll of divine intervention and went to pass other quests, remembering the plot about a month later. And then he just unsuccessfully jumped down and ended up where necessary.

In 2006, my mother bought me PC Gamer magazine (frankly, now I have the feeling that the editorial board of the Russian edition was sitting on drugs, there were so beaten out articles), and there-a preview on Oblivion. A month later, he received a disk (pirate) with a maritime and Oblivion as a gift, but the latter did not work for me, so he sat down to play in Morovind. And somewhere for a year for me other games have disappeared.

I explored almost every stone there, almost all the quests (except for the thieves guild, I don’t know why), including starting the game for the sake of quests of other great houses, a school friend who also liked the game, downloaded fashion (I did not have the Internet). And when the game ended, he began to set additions. Everything was not so smooth with them: some links in the dialogs did not work, and therefore in the same tribunal it was impossible to get to Mornhold, but I really wanted to be there. Well, I shook the whole space of the game again, confident that the entrance should be somewhere! Saved the game editor: After making sure that there is still no entry, I figured out the method of scientific poke about how to create NPC and give him the opportunity to teleport the character where I needed. My joy could no bound! Even after it turned out that the plot quests do not work for the same reason (but the side effects worked), so I again used the service of the game editor.

But Oblivion did not produce such an effect (it turned out that he did not like the old drivers on the video card). I passed it entirely, but the sensations were no longer the same.

Morovind is more than the game. At one time she broke all the templates to me. Walk on the water?- Please! Levitate in the air?- Please! Compose your spell in the editor- yes without problems! And the world … What is the world there, what a magical starry sky, how mysteriously the pestilence howls and you do not know what awaits you behind the nearest hill … The distinctive flora and fauna create bizarre biomes. First Siltstraider, the first NECH – a bunch of impressions! Stunning races and their cultures, amazing architecture. Yes, there it was possible to disappear about the dream of food and toilet, leaving the computer in a precessive state – he absorbed and fascinated so much. In the inventory, I dragged so many magical trash, the appointment of about a third of which I did not fully understand – this is not modern casual games where everything is primitive and immediately chewed and the gameplay consists of 3 buttons. It seems to me that all this together gave a sense of magic, the feeling that it was not just a set of textures and scripts, but a real revived fairy tale. Neither before nor after Mordorovind I no longer felt. The witcher is of course also atmospheric, but it is more understandable to me … more earthly, medieval setting does not fascinate the imagination. In general, no matter how much I would find nostaldzhi-digits about Morovind, the hand will not get tired of the pluses)))

I met a game in the fifth or sixth grade, that is, it was … 13 or 14 years ago. Damn it was love at first sight. At first he played with friends, then he took a disc for a long year, stubbornly not wanting to return and almost called his charm. No other game has still been able to give the same feelings. Neither Oblivion, nor Fallout NV, nor especially Skyrim, not a single witcher – nothing. Apparently, the sad howl of the lonely silage of the Studers forever secured somewhere in the heart and is not going to leave him at all. In other things, I am not at all against.

But in the fall of 2017 I learned about multiplayer for this game. Installed, launched and 3 months spent without a might in Mordorovinda really liked the game. But Morovind has a lot of flaws. There is no variability in the game, it is linear (there is a little variability and nonlinearity in the additions of Bladmun), there is no full -fledged voice acting and dialogues, you can’t rominate anyone, you can’t be a villain, the world is dead only multiplayer can revive him. Michael Kikbraid was very affected by the game, so the game turned out to be so unusual. But if he had not been fired in our every game would be another chosen. Which is someone’s reincarnation. Try it later if you have not tried the old parts of The Elder Scrolls: Arena, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall or An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire.
